why colette OFFERs
CranioSacral Therapy

Since 1980 I have been helping women with pregnancy, birth and early postpartum care, with a special focus on breastfeeding issues. I was inspired to offer CranioSacral Therapy (CST) as a result of my own journey in healing from a car accident in 1991. At that time I was 32 weeks pregnant with my third child and was broadsided by a larger car. Fortunately we all survived, and my baby was not harmed, but I sustained a severe pelvic whiplash, causing extreme pain that increased weekly.

Already knowing I did not want to take drugs that could potentially hurt my unborn baby, I intuitively turned to receiving CranioSacral Therapy treatments and combined my care with very gentle therapeutic yoga movements to help. Together the therapeutic yoga and CranioSacral Therapy became my pain relief. They helped release constriction not only in my pelvic area, but throughout my body. The combination was so deeply soothing to my nervous system, and the severe pain decreased significantly. I continued benefiting greatly from receiving CranioSacral Therapy during this last stage of my pregnancy, and after giving birth. That’s when I knew I wanted to share CranioSacral Therapy, combined with gentle therapeutic yoga, by offering it to others, too.

It has been my great fortune to work with thousands of mothers and babies as a maternity registered nurse, and through the groundbreaking prenatal and postpartum yoga programs I created at Sri Janani Yoga.

In addition to serving as founder, director and lead instructor at Sri Janani Yoga, I have worked in labor and delivery, postpartum care and public health throughout my adult life. For over 35 years I have served people who come seeking to recover from chronic pain and injuries.

I work therapeutically with all ages, and my specialty is in helping pregnant women, infants and children. When treating an infant or child, I often work with the whole family. My commitment is to helping you on your path of health and healing. For more information, or to schedule sessions, please contact me at 206-850-2407 or colette@seattleholisticcenter.com
